Sinop’ta Kaya Pınarı olarak bilinen alanı define avcıları tahrip etti. Yanardağın krater gölünden oluşan ve el yapımı eski mezar taşlarının bulunduğu Kaya Pınarı definecilerin ilgi odağı oldu.

İçerisinden neye ait olduğu bilinmeyen küp parçalarının çıkması akıllarda merak uyandırdı.
Gece kazı işlemleri yapan defineciler yaklaşık 5 metrelik bir alanı kazarak tahrip etti. Konu ile ilgili açıklama yapan Mustafa Şener, “Ben 72 yaşındayım. Buraya Boyabat’tan geleli 40 yıl oldu. Buraya Kaya Pınarı diyorlar. Bu gördüğünüz su kayadan çıkıyor, o yüzden buraya Kaya Pınarı ismini vermişler. Bu pınarın önünde önceleri büyük bir taş vardı. Burada define olduğuna inananlar bu taşları kırdılar. Kayaların altında altın olduğuna inanıp buraları kazdılar.
Kazdıkları yerden küp parçaları çıktı. Onlar bunun bir define olduğunu sanıyorlar ama ben eski zamanlarda ev de kullanılan bir eşyadan başka bir şey olmadığını düşünüyorum. Asıl önemli olan bu değil. Tarihi bir dokuyu derinlemesine kazdılar ve altın aradılar. Ben burada hayvancılık yapıyorum, kazdıkları alan çok derin olduğu için hayvanlarım buraya düşebilir. O yüzden onlar kazıyorlar ben de kapatıyorum. Çünkü hayvanlarım düşse buradan çıkamaz, ölür.
